"Sound is the extension of soul."
After successfull and distinguished studies in Brussels and Paris, Luc Vander Borght wins prizes in several national and international competitions (Laureate from Menuhin Foundation "Live Music Now").
Currently devoted to chamber music, he performs throughout Europe as a founding member of Take 4 Guitar Quartet with which he records three CDs.
He plays in duo with Véronique Sulbout and together in trio with violinist Louis-Denis Ott (Arcopizz trio).
In his numerous and exclusive transcriptions and arrangements, Luc Vander Borght brings out his outstanding treatment of the melody through the guitar timbres, and contributes to enlarge the horizon of the instrument by adapting musical treasures to the surprisingly rich soundscape of the guitar.
He graduated in guitar and chamber music (Diplômes Supérieurs) at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and studied with John Williams and Alberto Ponce.
After ten years of teaching at the Royal Conservatory of Liège (Belgium), he currently teaches at the Académie Prince Rainier III in Monaco. He is regulary invited abroad to teach in courses and masterclasses and welcomes every year in his class the best talents from Mexico, in a partnership with Turquois Foundation.
