With « La Danza », Take 4 spins the audience through such diverse dances and rhythms as classical ballet music, Baltic Folklore, jazzy waltz, foxtrot and polka, South American milonga, tango and choros.
La Danza“, TAKE FOUR arouses the fascination of the dance as its most primal, an ancient form of nonverbal expression. The music awakens various eras and cultures and takes the audience on a multifaceted and varied trip around our globe. Take Four spins the audience through such diverse dances and rhythms as classical ballet music, Baltic Folklore, jazzy waltz, foxtrot and polka, South American Milonga and Choros. In Purcell’s dance suite, the atmosphere of 17th century English court comes to life, in Shostakovich’s Jazz Suite, the exuberance and decadence of the 1920’s. Later, Komitas immerses the listener into the barren world of Armenian steppe, and Nazareth virtuoso compositions pulse with the untamed and overwhelming South American zest for life.
